2019/2020 Compliance Calendars For Gasoline Bulk Plants Will Be Available Soon
December 3, 2019 |
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Air Quality Bureau implements the regulations formalized by the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants in 40 CFR, Part 63, Subpart BBBBBB (NESHAP 6B). In order to avoid the compliance burdens associated with the NESHAP 6B requirements, bulk plant owner/operators storing gasoline were given the option to voluntarily limit their gasoline throughput at their facility. Owner/operators were given the option of electing into a construction permit with the state and voluntarily capping their gasoline throughput at 19,999 gallons per day or 19,999 gallons per month. In addition to electing into a cap on gasoline throughput at their facility, owner/operators electing into a construction permit with the state are also required to document monthly inventory and throughput, perform and document monthly facility inspections, and use submerged fill for cargo and stationary tanks. Compliance documentation must be produced upon request.
FUELIowa in partnership with the Iowa Waste Reduction Center Small Business Assistance Program through the University of Northern Iowa created a compliance calendar for owner/operators to assist with the documentation requirements for throughput and facility inspections outlined above. Owner/operators will be receiving a postcard reminder from the Iowa Waste Reduction Center for ordering the new 2019/2020 compliance calendar very soon. FUELIowa members with questions on obtaining a compliance calendar or the NESHAP 6B requirements should contact John Maynes in the FUELIowa office.
